Our first weekend meeting was a great success! Atos Medical was present to capture the very gracious gifts presented to Allison, Ana and Katrina on behalf of NTLS, as well as the dynamics of our NTLS meetings. Katrina announced her latest project regarding "insider knowledge" for all laryngectomees and recruited NTLS members to provide her their own experiences and thoughts this way. The choir is mastering its repertoire, now including "Moon River"! The Provox course as well as the supplemental filming by Atos Medical, Inc. was a huge success! This would not have been possible without the generous participation of so many NTLS members and I thank you very much for all your help this way. This effort will serve to expand the knowledge of clinicians and patients regarding laryngectomy rehabilitation!! Great job all!!!! NTLS progress toward this year's goal is discussed including plans for uninsured/underinsured TL supply funding and the family library. Katrina announced plans for developing a caregiver support network as well as brochure with members and family providing invaluable insight for this purpose. The upcoming Atos Medical Provox course and filming sessions were detailed. Volunteer assignments for the weekend were discussed as well. |
